Nick Charming is a guy who lives up to his name, and in his tell-all guide to breaking hearts, he shares the hard-learned truths and necessary steps he took to break Jane's heart. From step one to twelve, he details exactly how he made Jane's wounds, poured salt in them, let them heal, and ripped off the scabs to let them bleed again. Nick doesn't hold back in this mini-tale of horror for the heart. This is a cautionary tale about opening up to the possibility of love, whether you aspire to be like Nick Charming, or find yourself a victim of his ways, like Jane. No matter which side of the story you may be on, prepare for a raw (and humorous) telling of how people hurt each other, and where that leaves them, all from the distorted view of our anti-hero, Nick Charming.

Nick Charming seems to have it all. An overpriced house in suburbia, a late model crossover SUV, a girlfriend that his mother loves, and a son to dote on. His life looks perfect on social media, but in this introspective tale about self-medicating and friendship, he soon finds the job of keeping up appearances making him miserable.
When his job in middle management won't pay the mortgage, Nick takes on a side job as an inept private investigator. When he decides to use his “skills” to track down Milan, a pretty musician he met at an Oktoberfest celebration, her band mate thwarts all of his efforts with an uncanny sense for predicting Nick’s advances. He uses his pursuit of Milan as a distraction to ease the tensions in his home and work life, but finds himself in a position he’s not familiar with: he might actually care about her. In a fog of mismanaged anti-anxiety medications, Nick must decide whether he should take what he wants from Milan or be a decent human being. |
